Year 9 marks the completion of Key Stage 3, also known as the Junior Secondary School stage. Students undertake an intensive programme of study in preparation for both internal examinations and the internationally recognised Cambridge Checkpoint Examination.
At this level, students are challenged to think independently, engage in practical investigations, and take greater ownership of their academic journey.
Preparation for Cambridge Checkpoint and internal examinations
Collaboration, teamwork, initiative and learner independence
Career preparation through projects, workshops and field experiences
Students sit the Cambridge Checkpoint examination, receiving an international benchmark and learner diagnostic report.
Learners develop ownership, critical thinking, initiative and confidence in academic decision-making.
Structured preparation for senior secondary through workshops, projects, field trips and career guidance.
The Cambridge Checkpoint Examination is taken early in the Summer Term (Term Three) and is sponsored and marked by Cambridge University in England. It provides Temple School with an external international benchmark for learner performance.
Each student receives a Statement of Achievement and a diagnostic feedback report containing detailed performance analysis to support continued academic growth.
